The Liberty Guard is a performing ensemble that adds visual impact to the band in the Fall, performing at all football halftimes and Redhawk pep rallies. During the spring semester, the Liberty Guard competes as a separate entity in both Winterguard International and the North Texas Colorguard Association. The Liberty Guard program is a wonderful place for students who love dance and performing to become involved with a team in High School, and show their school spirit.

As part of this team, students are required to attend after school practices, contests, pep rallies, selected community parades, and participate in an end of the year final solo performance. Students must consciously work both in and out of practice to improve individual performance and technique, while pursuing individual and ensemble goals. Members of the Liberty Guard are strongly encouraged to take weekly private lessons.

Accolades for the Liberty Guard include:

2015 Regional A round Champions-JV, 2015 Scholastic A Bronze Medalist-Varsity, 2014 Scholastic A Bronze medalist, 2013 Scholastic AAA round Champions, 2013 Golden Triangle Classic Outstanding Color Guard, and consecutive UIL Division I ratings since 2012.

Auditions for the 2018-2019 team will be held spring 2018. For more information, please email Mr. Scott Mills: millse@friscoisd.org
