2026: A Season of Music, Memories, and Redhawk Pride

October 24, 2026 | Melissa, TX

The Liberty High School Redhawks Marching Band wrapped up its 2026 marching season Saturday at the Area Marching Contest in Melissa, Texas, finishing 11th — just one place shy of advancing to finals.

For our students, this was a tough result to accept. After months of hard work, countless rehearsals, and so much dedication, coming so close to the next round naturally brought disappointment. But as we watched the Redhawks take the field, deliver their performance, and receive the applause of the crowd, one thing was clear: these students gave us so much to be proud of.

From the precision of their formations to the powerful sound of their music, every moment reflected the effort they had poured into this season. Behind that performance were summer days spent rehearsing in the Texas heat, long evenings of practice, and the determination to keep getting better together.

Marching band is about more than competition results. It is about friendships, teamwork, perseverance, and learning to show up for one another even when things get difficult. This season, we watched our students grow not only as performers, but also as individuals. Those lessons and memories will last far longer than any ranking.

To our students: It is okay to be disappointed. You worked hard, dreamed big, and came incredibly close. But please remember that one competition does not define your season. Be proud of how far you have come, what you accomplished together, and the memories you created along the way. You represented Liberty with dedication, professionalism, and heart.

Thank You, Redhawk Family!

A marching band season takes an entire community, and we are grateful to everyone who made this journey possible.

To our band directors, instructors, and staff, thank you for your guidance, patience, and commitment to our students.

To our parents, families, band boosters, and volunteers, thank you for the countless hours, early mornings, late nights, meals, transportation, equipment support, fundraising, and behind-the-scenes work. Every contribution mattered.

And to everyone who cheered from the stands and supported our band throughout the season, thank you for standing behind these incredible students.

Although the season didn't end with the result we hoped for, it ends with friendships strengthened, memories made, and a community that has every reason to be proud.

Redhawks, you may have finished one place short of finals, but you have given us countless reasons to celebrate. Hold your heads high, cherish the journey, and carry the spirit of this season with you.

Thank you for an unforgettable season. Once a Redhawk, always a Redhawk!
